Kia reveals first images of production-ready PV5 commercial van
Earlier this week, Kia surprised everyone when they officially revealed the first images of its newest EV, the EV4. Available in sedan and hatchback body styles, the sleek and stylish EV4 features a unique silhouette that makes it stand out from the rest. But if you thought Kia was done with the surprises, the Korean automaker has more in store.
Also making an early reveal before the brand's 2025 EV day in Tarragona, Spain is the PV5. It will serve as Kia's commercial EV that is set to move cargo as well as ferry passengers without using a drop of fuel. First previewed as a concept during last year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and at Kia EV Day in Taiwan, the PV5 Passenger and Cargo EVs closely resemble the concept's looks.

Since it has no internal combustion engine (ICE), designers at Kia had free reign to make the EV as stylish as possible while still serving its original purpose. It features a pair of distinct LED lighting signatures at the front, a big Kia logo on the center, and a charging port to remind everyone this is no ordinary commercial van.
Also worth mentioning on the PV5 are the large windows on the passenger van which allows more light into the cabin as well as accentuate the EV's distinct design. Meanwhile, the cargo van features a boxier profile that maximizes cabin space to load big (or small) luggage. It also has twin side-opening tailgate doors for easier loading and unloading of cargo.

Kia has yet to reveal the powertrain details of the PV5. However, the commercial EV could be available with either single or dual electric motors along with a high-capacity battery that will allow it to go the distance. The PV5 may also benefit from a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system to power up worksites or homes in times of disaster.

With the Kia PV5 looking to make a statement in the commercial van market, perhaps it might give diesel-powered commercial vehicles something to think about in the future. We're also keeping our fingers crossed Kia Philippines makes the PV5 available here.
