Changan Philippines could officially debut Hunter RE-EV pickup at MIAS 2025
Changan Philippines has been making a lot of noise lately for the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). They already announced they will be launching several electrified vehicles at this year's MIAS and have released several teasers that could indicate they might reveal the likes of the Nevo Q05 and A05 plug-in hybrids, as well as the Lumin mini EV.
However, we've been wondering if the automaker will ever launch the Hunter RE-EV pickup truck they initially previewed at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Fortunately, the electrified pickup truck will make its official debut this April at MIAS 2025.

Recently, Changan Philippines released a teaser image of a pickup truck with the caption “Extended possibilities. Coming soon”. Despite the shadowy image hiding most of the vehicle's appearance, the pickup truck in the teaser photo closely resembles the Hunter RE-EV that was previewed at last year's PIMS.
No exact specifications have been revealed just yet although the Hunter RE-EV will more than likely get a 2.0L turbocharged engine that makes 190 PS and 340 Nm of torque. However, the engine will only serve as a generator to recharge the 31.18 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack which powers either a single electric motor or a dual-motor system.

This makes the Changan Hunter RE-EV a direct competitor against the recently launched BYD Shark 6. But unlike the Shark 6 which is only available with a dual-motor AWD system, the Hunter RE-EV is available with a single electric motor that produces 174 PS and 320 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the AWD variant makes a more potent 268 PS with 470 Nm of pull.
With a fully charged battery and a full tank of gasoline, the Hunter RE-EV is capable of traveling over 1,030 km based on the CLTC cycle. In addition, it benefits from a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system via a 3.3 kW high-power cargo box with two 220V sockets.

Other details about the upcoming electrified pickup truck remain a mystery. But with MIAS 2025 only several weeks away, we won't be surprised if Changan is already making the necessary preparations before its launch alongside the Nevo Q05 and A05, and the Lumin mini EV.
