Nevo is Changan’s new energy vehicle brand
It’s no secret that new energy vehicles are becoming the thing nowadays. With the Philippines being a very attractive market for manufacturers to offer hybrids and battery electric vehicles thanks to EO 62, brands are coming left and right with models to compete for exceptional fuel efficiency and electric range.
Speaking of NEVs, Changan PH has already outlined its intentions to offer electrified vehicles with the preview of the Hunter PHEV last year. Recently, a high-ranking executive of the brand shared with us their plans to launch a plug-in hybrid crossover to compete with the BYD Sealion 6. Well, it looks like we’re going to see the model soon.
Changan Auto Philippines has posted a teaser video on its social media page. While the 10-second reel only showed the hood and headlights of the upcoming model, along with the different logo above the Changan typeface, that was enough to give us a hint of the particular model coming to the country.

The logo is from Changan’s new energy vehicle sub-brand called Nevo, which offers battery electric and range extender vehicles in the global market. In the current lineup, they have the unique-looking E07 crossover, the A07 and A05 sedans, and the Q05 which shares a lot of similarities with the CS55. Based on the teaser video, it looks like the Q05 could be making its way to the country soon.
The Changan Nevo Q05 combines a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor to form the plug-in hybrid powertrain. The total system output is rated at 215 PS with a maximum torque of 330 Nm. In terms of the all-electric range, the Q05 can reach up to 95 km with its 18.4 kWh battery under WLTP conditions, with the vehicle capable of doing a combined range of up to 1,200 km.
Changan will be at this year’s Manila International Auto Show, so that could be the earliest chance we could catch the model up close and personal.
