Here’s your first look at the new MG4
It’s been around three years since MG officially revealed the MG4 EV. However, the automaker only launched the electric hatchback in the Philippine market back in October 2023. It’s available in a regular variant which can generate up to 204 PS and can travel up to 435 km. Then there’s the more powerful XPower which cranks out 435 PS and can achieve 0 - 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Fast forward to 2025 and MG has just revealed the new MG4. Refreshed for the 2025 model year, the MG4 will serve as MG’s first global model for this year and is set to replace the current electric hatchback. Featuring a redesigned look from top to bottom, the 2025 MG4 appears to borrow some styling elements from the Cyberster with its more mature front fascia.

The 2025 MG4 gets a new pair of LED headlights, a cleaner bumper with a larger lower air intake, and a prominent MG badge on the front. The roofline also appears to have been updated as it now features a more traditional look compared to the current model. Also worth mentioning are the more pronounced fenders, new 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, new LED taillights with a full-width centerpiece, and a restyled rear bumper.
Size-wise, the updated MG4 measures 4395mm long, 1842mm wide, 1551mm tall, and has a 2750mm wheelbase. This makes the new model 108mm longer than its predecessor. In terms of specs, the 2025 MG4 will have a single electric motor that makes 120 kW or 163 PS. This makes the MG4 have a slightly lower horsepower as the current model starts with 168 PS. Last but not least, it will have a lithium-iron phosphate battery although its exact capacity has yet to be revealed.

Other details about the 2025 MG4 have yet to be revealed although we won’t be surprised if it will make its public debut at this year’s Auto Shanghai which is scheduled to happen in April. With that, perhaps we can expect the new MG4 to make its way here later in the year or Q1 2026.
