BMW was spotted testing a camouflaged 5 Series Touring
Despite SUVs and crossovers being more popular in the Philippines, you have to hand it to BMW distributor SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. for still bringing in wagons to the market. From the 3 Series Touring range to the i5 M60 Touring, as well as the mighty M5 Touring, BMW Philippines has several wagons available for the most discerning clients.
But with the current 5 Series (codenamed G60 and G61 for Touring) already a couple of years old, BMW is preparing to launch the refreshed version soon, and our spies managed to spot one being tested. But instead of seeing a sedan, our spy photographers managed to find a prototype wagon being driven somewhere in Europe.

Like the M3 EV prototype we reported yesterday, the refreshed 5 Series Touring will likely receive a “Neue Klasse” makeover. This can be seen on the redesigned LED headlights that feature a more dynamic appearance, along with a revised front fascia and grille. Meanwhile, the LED taillights may also get some changes to go along with the updated front end. If anything, the taillights could get the same look as the all-new 3 Series.
The rest of the vehicle remains a mystery due to the camouflage livery. However, we can expect some subtle changes on the door or side panels to match the Neue Klasse facelift. New alloy wheel designs could also become available for the facelifted 5 Series.

Our spies have yet to get pictures of the cabin. However, the interior of the 5 Series could get the new 17.9-inch iDrive display, the panoramic vision windshield, and a 3D heads-up display, which were all first revealed in the all-new iX3.

With the 5 Series set to receive an update soon, perhaps BMW is set to launch it later this year. But we won't be surprised if the all-new BMW 3 Series is revealed first.
