Mitsubishi Brazil reveals the go-anywhere Triton Savana

Yesterday, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand launched a new variant of its popular pickup truck called the Triton Street. Apart from the fact that it has an extended single-cab body, the Triton Street features a revised front fascia that does away with the Dynamic Shield look in favor of an altered profile.

Based on the redesign, some folks appear to prefer the new look of the Triton Street compared to the current appearance of the Triton. However, there's no word yet if Mitsubishi plans to launch a refreshed version of the Triton pickup truck.

Over in Brazil, however, Mitsubishi has released a more rugged version of the Triton, and boy, do we like what we're seeing. This is the Mitsubishi Triton Savana, and it has some exclusive upgrades that make it more capable off the beaten path. For starters, the Triton Savana gets additional body cladding that serves to give the pickup a more purposeful look, as well as protect important exterior components from debris or from the trail. It also has rock sliders as standard to further protect the vehicle from off-road debris while going over uneven terrain.

In case you didn't notice them yet, the Triton Savana is also equipped with a snorkel to take on high waters with ease, a roof rack to carry additional camping/off-road gear, side steps, black 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in rugged-terrain tires, and blacked-out accents on the door handles, side mirror caps, and bumpers.

The Mitsubishi Triton Savana also comes with two new exclusive paint finishes to give the pickup a more striking look. First is the paint you see now, called Rally Yellow, which makes the Triton stand out from the rest. The other color is Forest Green, which we reckon will suit the Triton Savana when it's romping around forests or climbing up mountain trails.

The Mitsubishi Triton Savana will be built in limited numbers, as only 80 examples will be built in total. With that, those who are looking to dress up or modify their Triton could perhaps get some inspiration from the Triton Savana. Alternatively, perhaps Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) could come up with a Triton Savana-equivalent of their own?
