Will this be the Triton’s new look?
It’s no secret that Mitsubishi likes to be aggressive when it comes to styling, and it’s been working out so far with the likes of the Xpander, the XForce, and the recently launched Destinator.
However, looking at the updates that Mitsubishi did to the Triton earlier in the year in Thailand, it seems like they are still busy tinkering on the look of the pickup truck.

Mitsubishi has launched the Triton Street mega cab in Thailand, and its most notable change lies in its face. Instead of the squarish Dynamic Shield design, the Triton Street has a trapezoid-shaped main grille with a different profile for the lighting elements and the foglight housing. A large section of it is painted in black, with the diamond star logo only the one finished in chrome.
Being the Street variant that will mostly spend its time on sealed pavement, the pickup is fitted with stylish 17-inch wheels, and even comes with ADAS functions like forward collision mitigation.

The Triton Street is also powered by the lower tuned single turbo variant of the 4N16, making 150 PS and 330 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. Interestingly, the Triton Street has a brake-type active limited slip differential, which should be useful when entered in the Thailand pickup truck racing series.
With the Triton about to reach the third year of its model cycle, a facelift could be on the cards and the Street version could be the first indicator. Should Mitsubishi adopt the same face for the higher variants of the Triton, then? Let us know in the comments.
