Volvo Cars PH expands BEV lineup with 2026 ES90, EX90
2026 Volvo ES90 and EX90 now in the Philippines
Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Volvo Cars in the Philippines, marked a significant step in its electrification journey with the launch of the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV and the Volvo EX90 Ultra BEV in the Philippines.
Representing its next generation of flagship vehicles, both are engineered with next-level advanced safety innovations, modernized digital features, and passenger comfort.
Beginning with the ES90 Ultra, the Volvo flagship BEV sedan boasts its aerodynamic body – achieving a 0.25 Cd, which is complemented by its flat under chassis. On the outside, flush door handles and its Front Shield replace the traditional “grille” and integrate safety technology up front (radar, ultrasonic sensors, and cameras for ADAS). The automatic spoiler shutter at the lower half of the fascia helps cool the high-voltage battery and operates automatically.
On the inside, the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV features a spacious Scandinavian living room-inspired cabin with natural light from its panoramic electrochromic roof, with power-adjustable, ventilated, heated front seats with massage function and rear reclining and ventilated passenger seats delivering tailored comfort on every journey. Other features include a four-zone climate control.
In terms of its electric powertrain, the ES90 Ultra features an 800-volt architecture that enables faster DC charging. Based on the WLTP, the flagship BEV sedan can travel up to 700 kilometers.
The Volvo ES90 Ultra elevates safety with an advanced sensor suite that monitors both driver behavior and the surrounding environment. Equipped with 7 cameras, 5 radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, it delivers comprehensive awareness of the road, obstacles, and other vehicles. At its core, Next-Generation Pilot Assist provides Lane Keeping, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Navigation Support, enhancing situational awareness, reducing driver stress, and ensuring a safer, smoother, and more confident driving experience.
On the other hand, the EX90 Ultra is a 7-seat family SUV. With all-row comfort, family-focused safety features, and intelligent driver-assist technologies, its ultra-quiet cabin reduces stress on daily drives and family journeys alike, redefining luxury for modern families.
Inside the Volvo EX90, the Scandinavian Living Room interior philosophy comes to life, featuring flat-floor architecture, FSC-certified backlit wood décor, and sustainable, high-quality materials. It offers individually adjustable first-and second-row seats, cinema-style seating, power-folding rear seats, with genuine third-row usability where every seat is fully functional.
Cinema-style seating and USB-C connectivity across all rows ensure comfort and convenience for every passenger, making long journeys ergonomically enjoyable. Advanced LED lighting that mimics natural sunlight, four-zone climate control, and PM2.5 air purification enhance the cabin’s air quality and spaciousness, while its abundant, adventure-ready storage makes life on the long road a delightful possibility.
Powered by a twin-motor AWD drivetrain, the EX90 delivers up to ~624 km WLTP range from its 111 kWh high-voltage battery and supports ultra-fast DC charging, enabling 10–80% in approximately 22 minutes at up to 350 kW. Its 300 kW (456 hp) powertrain produces 770 Nm of torque, allowing 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds (US 0–60 mph in 5.7 seconds), a top speed of 180 km/h (electronically limited), and a towing capacity of up to 2,200 kg.
The EX90 also has Volvo’s new-generation Safe Space Technology. This advanced safety ecosystem integrates 8 high-resolution cameras, 5 radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and the Driver Understanding System to create a precise, real-time 360° view of the vehicle’s surroundings.
