Toll relief from NLEX Balintawak to Meycauayan will begin March 24 at 12:00 PM
For the past several days, northbound NLEX motorists had to endure traffic along the expressway as the tollway operator continues to repair the damaged Marilao Interchange Bridge. Unfortunately for NLEX Corporation, this has earned them the ire of motorists and several government agencies like the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB).

DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon has already called upon NLEX Corporation to implement a toll holiday along affected expressway sections due to the repairs causing heavy traffic. In response, NLEX Corporation will implement a temporary toll relief from Balintawak to Meycauayan. The toll holiday will take effect starting tomorrow, March 24 at 12:00 PM. The toll relief will remain in effect until all four lanes of the Marilao northbound area are opened to the public.
As mentioned before, the damaged Marilao Interchange Bridge was caused by a truck that violated clearance regulations. This has resulted in its cargo hitting a section of the bridge which has caused traffic in the surrounding areas since last week.

As of today, the tollway operator is fast-tracking repairs on the bridge which they intend to complete by next week. However, the upcoming repairs mean there will only be two lanes passable for motorists starting tomorrow March 24 at 1:00 PM until March 28, 11:00 PM. A zipper lane will be opened in the southbound direction when conditions allow to help northbound motorists get to their destinations.
NLEX Corporation wishes for the motorists’ patience and understanding as they fast-track repairs in order to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
