EQC no more: Mercedes-Benz C-Class with EQ Technology coming soon
Last year, Mercedes-Benz announced it would integrate its EQ branding into the core lineup of vehicles. The move comes as the brand aims to streamline its electric vehicle (EV) offerings and address customer feedback regarding the automaker's “EQ” model designations.
This means that instead of having distinct “EQ” models (i.e., EQE or EQS), Mercedes-Benz will now shift to calling its EVs with the suffix “with EQ Technology”, as seen in the G 580 with EQ Technology that was quietly launched last year.

With that, we can expect some models like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with EQ Technology to be revealed soon. In fact, our spy photographers managed to spot a camouflaged prototype undergoing winter testing. Based on the photos we received, the electric C-Class will look just like the ICE version, albeit with some minor design changes, particularly the liftback-like rear. It will also have what appears to be a sweptback roofline, which complements the angular rear end of the EV.

The front fascia appears to be fitted with production lights, but the rear looks like it still has prototype taillights, given the unusual round design. Perhaps Mercedes-Benz will replace those as the vehicle inches closer to a production model.
As far as its hardware is concerned, the C-Class with EQ Technology will reportedly share technical features with the GLC and could be underpinned by the brand's MB.EA platform. That means the C-Class with EQ Technology could come with an 800V architecture, up to 800 km of range thanks to a 94 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack, and a two-speed transmission.

Other details about the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class with EQ Technology are not yet available, but our spies did mention that its official unveiling could take place in the second half of 2026. With that, we're hoping to see more development from the brand, as well as more pictures from our spy photographers later in the year.
