Jaguar's ambitious EV spotted being driven at the Green Hell

It was nearly a year ago when Jaguar unveiled the Type 00 Concept, the brand's vision for an all-electric future. Despite enthusiasts not being on board with Jaguar's rebrand as a fully electric automaker (along with the image change), the British automaker is going all in. Heck, even the Philippines is included in the rebrand.

While we've already seen the Type 00 in concept form, we're still curious what the production version will eventually look like. Well, thanks to our spy photographers, they were able to spot a camouflaged prototype being driven at the Nurburgring.

Much like the original concept, the Jaguar Type 00 being tested appears to have the same look and design. From the long hood to the short deck rear, the Type 00 still features the concept-inspired profile. Unlike the concept, however, the production version gets bigger side windows and will come with two additional rear doors. This is different from the original concept, which had a sleeker look and only had two doors.

Other changes we noticed on the Jaguar Type 00 are what appear to be conventional LED taillights. The original concept had a vent-like rear and thin LED taillights that were placed in the middle of the vehicle. Carried over from the concept, however, is the liftback-style rear that's still covered in a camo livery. While the concept was fully covered, the production version will most likely have a large back window to allow for better rear visibility.

Powering the Type 00 is the Jaguar Electric Architecture (JAE), which is expected to give the vehicle a range of up to 770 km on a full charge. Thanks to an 800V architecture, the Type 00 has a charging rate of up to 350 kW, which translates to a 15-minute charge to 321 km of usable range.

With Jaguar still conducting tests on its upcoming EV, we can expect the official launch to happen sometime next year.
