Kia previews EV5, launches Q1 2026 in the Philippines

After two years, Kia Philippines and ACMobility have made it happen.

Making its debut in the country is none other than the all-new Kia EV5 electric crossover. Slotting below the EV9 and EV6, the upcoming addition to Kia’s all-electric lineup features futuristic styling along with a lengthy list of standard features.

Starting with the most obvious first, it wears the “Opposites United” design language, the EV5 looks like a scaled-down version of the flagship EV9 SUV. From the distinct LED light signatures at the front and rear to the aerodynamically designed 19-inch alloy wheels, the designers over at Kia made sure the EV5 forms its own unique identity on the road.

Size-wise, the EV5 measures 4615mm in length, 1875mm in width, and 1715mm in height, with a 2750mm wheelbase. This puts the EV5 right into the compact SUV market.

Inside, the EV5 features a dual 12.3-inch screen – one for the instrument cluster, and the other for infotainment to form a panoramic setup. As with the EV6 and EV9, the dashboard features a minimalist design while still incorporating physical controls for the climate control systems and other interior functions. It also has a floating center console that adds more cabin space inside the EV.

For the PH market, Kia chose to offer the long-range version of the EV5. That means the vehicle comes with an 88.1 kWh battery that powers a single electric motor, producing 217 PS and 310 Nm of torque.

This gives the EV5 a range of up to 550 km. Despite not having a 400V architecture, the EV5 can still recharge its batteries from 30% to 80% charge in about 27 minutes via a fast DC charger. In addition, it has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature to power up appliances and other devices with ease in the outdoors or during a blackout.

“Kia’s journey toward electrification is a shared one. Through strong partnerships, innovation, and our dedication to customers, we aim to move the Philippines closer to a cleaner and more connected mobility future," said Jay Lopez, Managing Director of Kia Philippines.

Kia Philippines will officially launch the EV5 in Q1 2026, with the suggested retail price to be revealed at a later date.
