Can we expect the Denza 9 to produce over 1,000 PS?
In April 2025, BYD unveiled the Denza Z Concept, a sleek, all-electric coupe poised to rival other high-performance EVs. With a Lotus-like appearance, the two-door coupe boasts a muscular exterior, a large rear wing, massive alloy wheels, and magnetorheological dampers that can make real-time adjustments based on road conditions.
No output figures were mentioned, but given that it's touted to be a high-performance EV, it's bound to be one heck of a vehicle. Now, our spies managed to take pictures of the production version being tested at the Nurburgring.

Based on what our spies captured, the prototype Denza Z Concept will reportedly be called the Denza 9 and will have a powerful electric powertrain. It will have a triple motor system, which could mean it could produce well over 1,000 PS and more than 1,000 Nm of torque. It will also have a steer-by-wire system and the aforementioned magnetorheological dampers that can constantly make adjustments on the fly.

The adaptive suspension is called Disus-M, which is derived from the all-electric Yangwang U7 sedan. It can analyze road conditions via sensors and can make changes in as little as 10 milliseconds. Last but not least, the spied prototype gets massive disc brakes, which highlight the performance capability of the Denza 9.

There's no timeline yet as to when the automaker plans to officially launch the Denza 9. But given that the prototype looks a lot like the concept that was revealed earlier this year, perhaps Denza has already decided its final look. The only question now is, how fast and how powerful the Denza 9 will be?
