The Fronx is Suzuki’s Raize fighter

Well, that didn’t take too long.

After making its regional debut in Indonesia, Suzuki Philippines has quickly dropped a surprise – the all-new Suzuki Fronx is coming to the country. The Japanese small car specialist will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in the Philippines, and this is where the brand’s A-segment crossover will be making its local preview.

At less than 4 meters long, the Fronx matches up against the likes of the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet. While Suzuki PH is yet to give details about the crossover, we can have a look at what our neighbors in Indonesia got in terms of specifications.

Over there, the Fronx is powered by either a 1.5L K15B or a 1.5L K15C four-cylinder engine that benefits from the brand's mild-hybrid technology called Smart Hybrid Vehicle System (SHVS).

The regular 1.5L K15B inline-four makes 105 PS with 138 Nm of torque and can be mated to either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.5L K15C with SHVS puts out 103 PS and 137 Nm of torque. If the latter sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the same engine powering the Suzuki Ertiga and the XL7.

Furthermore, Suzuki PH has a chance to price the Fronx competitively as the Indonesia-spec version is made at Suzuki’s Indomobil Motor plant in Cikarang, Indonesia. This allows the crossover to benefit from the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement or AFTA.

The Suzuki Matsuri Festival will be held on June 14 to 15, 2025 at SM Mall of Asia, where the brand will also showcase an interactive display of its heritage, innovations, and community in its Suzuki Matsuri Village, along with a grand ride activity for its motorcycle side.
