Homologation documents of Mitsubishi Destinator for PH market gets LTO approval
It seems we’re only a few months away from Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) launching its newest 7-seater offering. After posting a teaser video of the all-new Destinator on social media a few months ago, MMPC has received clearance from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to launch not one, but two variants of the upcoming turbocharged crossover.
Based on a recently approved Memorandum Circular issued by the LTO, we can expect two variants of the Mitsubishi Destinator for the Philippine market. Like the XForce, the PH-spec Destinator will be offered in GLS and GT variants, with the former serving as the entry-level version and the latter as the top-of-the-line offering.

Both variants of the Destinator will be 2WD and will have a 1499cc engine, which translates to an engine capacity of 1.5L. Based on what Indonesia gets, the PH-spec Destinator will most likely get the same 1.5L turbocharged MIVEC inline-four that makes 163 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Both versions will be paired with a CVT that drives the front wheels.
Size-wise, the LTO document shows that both the GLS and GT models will measure 4680mm long, 1840mm wide, 1780mm tall, and will have a 2815mm wheelbase. It will also have a generous ground clearance of 214mm, which is more than enough to take on rough roads and some puddles during a downpour. In addition, both the GLS and GT variants will have 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 series tires.

Other details about the Mitsubishi Destinator for the Philippine market are not yet available. But given that MMPC has already received approval from the LTO, perhaps the automaker plans on launching the Destinator before the year ends. With that, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any new info about the upcoming Mitsubishi vehicle.
