Subaru previews GT Edition and STI dress up kits
Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, has always been a mainstay of the Manila International Auto Show. Apart from using the event as a launchpad for their newest models, they also host the yearly Russ Swift Show that entertains fans with vehicle stunts and precision driving.
Speaking of the former, they have launched the new Outback XT with its 2.4-liter boxer turbo engine along with the Crosstrek GT Edition. But aside from the two, they have also used MIAS as an event to preview three of their models fitted with stylish dress-up kits – the BRZ STI Edition, the WRX GT Edition, and the Forester GT Wild Edition.

Starting with Subaru’s rear-wheel-drive sports car, the BRZ STI receives a wraparound body kit that consists of chin splitters on the front, side, and rear of the car for better aerodynamics and high-speed stability.

To produce greater downforce, the BRZ STI Edition was also fitted with a carbon fiber rear spoiler. Rounding up the form and function enhancements to the exterior is a set of special 18-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.
Interior additions are more subtle as Subaru gave the BRZ STI a red striped multi-function steering wheel wrapped in premium leather, matching the door cards. Meanwhile, the BRZ’s 2.4-liter naturally aspirated Boxer engine remains unchanged.

On the other hand, the Forester GT Wild Edition is Southeast Asia’s take on the Wilderness Edition offered in North American markets. It receives a wraparound kit with special anti-glare decals on the hood, matte black vinyl strips on the front bumper, the fenders, as well as the tailgate.

The Forester also gets a special GT Edition badge at the back and is topped off with a set of GT branded multi-spoke 17-inch wheels in matte black wrapped in Yokohama all-terrain tires.

The WRX GT Edition likewise receives a style kit that consists of a front, side, and rear skirt with its leading edges painted in silver. There’s also a new honeycomb grille with the STI badge attached to it. But unlike the GT Edition prototype that was shown at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show, the WRX GT Edition at MIAS did not have a different set of 18-inch wheels.

All three models are on display at the Subaru booth from April 4 to 7 at the World Trade Center venue of the 2024 Manila International Auto Show.
