2024 Subaru Crosstrek GT Edition and Outback 2.4 XT Turbo debuts in PH

Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP) is out in full force at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). After opening their new Alabang showroom a couple of days ago, they have arrived at this year's MIAS with several new vehicles, including several prototypes that show the stylish looks of the GT Edition models.

First and foremost is the 2024 Subaru Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight – the new top-of-the-line version of the brand's high-riding crossover wagon. Under the hood is a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine that cranks out 249 PS at 5200 – 6000 rpm along with 350 Nm of torque between 2000 – 4800 rpm. Power is then sent to a Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical AWD system.

For better traction should the going get tough, the AWD system comes with Dual Mode X-Mode for enhanced off-road capabilities, active torque split, and 213mm of ground clearance for peace of mind when going over any terrain.

Thanks to the increase in power over the naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter Boxer engine, the Outback XT Touring EyeSight gets an increased towing capacity of 2,400kg, 400kg more than the 2.5-liter version of the Outback. In addition, the turbocharged Outback can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 221 km/h.

Just like the non-turbocharged variant of the Outback, the 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight comes with plenty of amenities and features. It gets the tablet-inspired 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Nappa leather seats, a power sunroof, an 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, power-adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver, Type A & Type C charging ports, intelligent voice recognition, and dual-zone climate control.

From its namesake, the Outback 2.4 XT Touring comes with the brand's intelligent EyeSight 4.0 driver assist technology which aids in vehicle safety. Other key safety features available in the Outback XT include; steering responsive LED headlights, reverse automatic braking, multi-view monitor system, active torque vectoring, a hands-free power tailgate with anti-pinch function, and a host of airbags.

The other vehicle Subaru revealed is the 2024 Crosstrek GT Edition – a bolder-looking variant of Subaru's popular crossover. Designed by former Subaru Chief Designer and Head of Global Advanced Design Studio Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi, the Crosstrek GT Edition gives the vehicle a sportier vibe that complements the already rugged-looking crossover.

Compared to your typical Crosstrek, the GT Edition features several eye-catching exterior upgrades that include front, rear, & under spoilers, unique 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a tailgate-mounted wing, and foglight garnishes.

Open the doors and the Crosstrek GT Edition welcomes you into a sporty and luxurious interior. There are two-tone gray leather seats with the distinct GT Edition logos embroidered onto them, sporty red accents, white contrast stitching, and perforated leather for that extra flair.

Like the regular Crosstrek variants, the GT Edition comes with a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine that makes 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a Lineatronic CVT and Symmetrical AWD system. It also comes with plenty of features like an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, power-adjustable front seats, a power tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Type A & Type C charging ports.

The Subaru Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight retails for PHP 2,880,000 while the Subaru Crosstrek GT Edition is available for PHP 2,088,000.
