Select Lexus LM, LS models need to have their digital instrument panels reprogrammed or replaced

A few days ago, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced a recall for 3,416 vehicles due to an issue with their digital gauges. The recall affects four Toyota models, which include the Alphard, Camry, Corolla, and Corolla Cross.

Now, Lexus Philippines has issued a similar recall (AKA special service campaign) on several models due to a similar issue with the digital instrument cluster. According to Lexus Philippines, the special service campaign will cover the reprogramming or replacement of the digital gauges on select Lexus models.

In the Philippine market, the special service campaign affects a total of 1,172 vehicles, with the Lexus LM taking the largest share of the recall, at 1,148 units. Also part of the recall are 24 units of the Lexus LS 500 and 500h.

The affected Lexus models are equipped with a combination meter system that shows various information, such as warning lights, indicators, and vehicle gauges, on a 12.3-inch instrument panel. Due to a programming error, the system will repeatedly save unnecessary data, which will cause the memory to deplete sooner than expected. This can result in the screen not turning on, which is not ideal when driving.

Toyota Motor Philippines will notify affected customers through an Official Notification Letter and will be invited by authorized Lexus dealers to reprogram or replace the combination meter system at no cost to the vehicle owners. However, the company wishes to reiterate that the reprogramming software and replacement parts for the special service campaign are currently unavailable and are expected to be ready by October 2025 or later.

Once repair parts are available, customers with vehicles that are part of the recall are highly encouraged to immediately set an appointment with an authorized Lexus dealer to perform the necessary repair.
