Lamborghini’s highly-popular Urus SE embraces plug-in hybrid era
It was exactly over a year ago when Lamborghini held the global launch of its mightiest bull yet, the Urus SE. Revealed in the metal at the 2025 Auto China in Beijing, the Lamborghini Urus SE is a plug-in hybrid super SUV that can go like a supercar but can seat a total of five people, along with their luggage in the back.
After making its regional debut in Singapore back in September 2024, the Lamborghini Urus SE has officially been launched by PGA Cars Inc. in the Philippines. Serving as the most powerful and cutting-edge version of Lamborghini’s cash cow, the 2025 Urus SE is the result of combining raw twin-turbo power with electrification.

At the heart of the Urus SE is a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine that already makes an impressive 620 HP. But thanks to an electric motor housed within the 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Urus SE has a total system output of 800 HP and a whopping 950 Nm of torque. This allows the super plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h. Since it’s a PHEV, the Urus SE can also travel on electric power for up to 60 km.

Aside from having an electrified twin-turbo V8, the Lamborghini Urus SE also benefits from improved handling and chassis upgrades. It gets a virtual limited-slip differential (LSD) in the rear that does away with the mechanical LSD. This saves the vehicle around 44 kg of weight and provides the driver with the option to have an “on-demand” oversteer function for a more exhilarating driving experience.

It also gets a new electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch that evenly distributes torque between the front and rear axles. Helping the Urus SE maintain traction with the ground are the Pirelli P Zero tires shod in massive 23-inch Galanthus alloy wheels.

In terms of style, the 800 HP Urus SE gets exterior tweaks that are part of the model’s facelift. The front fascia now largely shares the design of the Revuelto thanks to a new hood that extends down towards the grille. It also comes with redesigned LED headlights and a new tailgate that features restyled LED taillights.

Open the doors, and the Urus SE welcomes the lucky occupants into a high-tech yet ergonomic cabin. The updates are few and far in between, although Lamborghini did put in a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, updated aircon vents, new materials for the dashboard, and new leather/upholstery options.

With the Urus SE PHEV now in the Philippines, those who want a high-performance SUV with the ability to travel on electric power can now get one.
