2025 Lamborghini Urus SE makes world debut at Auto China in Beijing
Remember when Lamborghini announced the Urus would be available as a plug-in hybrid super SUV? Well, what was once originally just an idea just became reality. Making its global debut at this year’s Auto China in Beijing is the 2025 Lamborghini Urus SE, and it packs quite the powertrain.
Instead of just having a 4.0-liter 620 PS twin-turbo V8 under the hood, the eight-cylinder now gets a helping hand from an electric motor housed within the 8-speed automatic gearbox. The motor doles out an extra 192 PS and gives the Urus SE a total system output of 800 PS and a staggering 950 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Lamborghini Urus to date.
From a standstill, the electrified Urus can sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h. Impressive, but the Urus Performante is still faster from 0 - 100 km/h at 3.3 seconds. Since it’s a plug-in hybrid, it has a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that gives the Urus SE the ability to travel on pure electric power for up to 60 km.
Beyond having an electrified V8, the Urus SE also gets several chassis and handling upgrades. it’s fitted with a new electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch that can evenly distribute the torque between the front and rear axles. It also packs what Lamborghini describes as a “virtual” LSD in the rear end which does away with the mechanical limited-slip differential. The virtual LSD also saves around 44 kg of weight and gives drivers the option to have an “on-demand” oversteer feature for a more fun driving experience.
Style-wise. the Urus SE also serves as a facelift for Lamborghini’s super SUV. The front fascia now resembles that of the Revuelto’s thanks to the new hood that extends down towards the grille, redesigned LED headlights, and an updated tailgate that coincides with the restyled LED taillights. Also worth mentioning are the massive 23-inch Galanthus alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.
Hop inside and the changes are minor as Lamborghini only decided to give it a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, retouched aircon vents, new materials for the dashboard & controls that Lamborghini says give a more tactile feel, and new leather/upholstery options for every discerning customer.
Those looking to get themselves a brand new Lamborghini Urus soon can now choose from the regular version, the Urus S, the Urus Performante, and the SE PHEV. The only question is when can we expect PGA Cars Inc. to bring the electrified beast to the Philippines? Hopefully we get the answers soon.
