Refreshed and upgraded GWM Cannon launching at MIAS 2025
GWM Philippines distributor Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc. (LAGI) is set to make a statement at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Just before the annual auto goes live next week, GWM Philippines held a special preview of one of their upcoming vehicles.
Set to make its public debut at this year’s MIAS is the 2025 GWM Cannon, and it gets more than just a redesign. Under the hood, the midsize pickup truck gets a new heart courtesy of a 2.4L turbo-diesel engine. It makes 181 PS with 480 Nm of torque and is mated to a new 9-speed automatic gearbox. If the engine output looks familiar, that’s because it’s the same engine that powers the Tank 300 Diesel recently launched in Thailand. Power is then sent to a torque-on-demand 4WD system.

Besides getting a new engine, GWM also gave the 2025 Cannon plenty of new features. These include full-leather upholstery, a new interior, a Tank 300-inspired center console and gear selector, a digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, GWM Voice Command Assistance, ventilated seats, and a wireless charging pad.
For extra peace of mind, GWM also gave the 2025 Cannon a suite of intelligent driver aids. These include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, curve-speed adaption, and lane-keeping assistance.

Other details regarding the 2025 GWM Cannon have yet to be revealed. However, those interested can see and check out the Cannon at MIAS 2025, where it will be officially launched. More importantly, show-goers can get an up-close experience of other GWM vehicles like the Ora and the Tank 300. There will also be exclusive MIAS promos for customers who reserve units at the auto show next week.

You can see the 2025 GWM Cannon, plus the brand’s latest and current models, at MIAS 2025, which will be held at the World Trade Center Manila in Pasay City from April 10 to 13.
