Did Nissan just confirm its next e-Power model for PH?

Nissan will launch several new vehicles at 2026 Philippine International Motor Show

It’s already been several years since Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) launched the Kicks B-SUV. Not only did it serve as the brand’s first-ever e-Power hybrid, but it also proved to be a popular choice among Filipino buyers. It delivers EV-like acceleration but removes the dreaded range anxiety associated with typical EVs, thanks to its onboard generator (i.e., engine) that recharges the battery on the go.

While it has certainly become a mainstay on Philippine roads, competition from other brands (particularly from Chinese brands) has intensified, as they bring more New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). With that, NPI needs to expand its lineup of e-Power hybrid vehicles.

Nissan Philippines president Masao Tsutsumi had already confirmed as early as December 2025 that they would be launching numerous vehicles in 2026. While he has yet to confirm the exact number of vehicles they will be revealing this year, the executive mentioned at yesterday’s Nissan Festival at Clark International Speedway (CIS) that it will consist of a full EV, a hybrid, and an e-Power vehicle.

Tsutsumi even went on to say that one of the upcoming vehicles was on display yesterday at CIS and that the automaker plans to reveal them all at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

Both the Ariya EV and the X-Trail e-Power were on display at CIS yesterday. While the Ariya EV is a good candidate, the latter is more likely to be launched in the country soon. With buyers already familiar with how e-Power technology works, it would likely attract more buyers. Combined with the fact that the X-Trail has become a household name in the country, it would make more sense for Nissan to relaunch it in the Philippines with e-Power. The X-Trail e-Power was also previewed at PIMS 2024 and garnered plenty of attention.

Should the X-Trail e-Power e-4ORCE be launched in the country soon, it would likely get a 1.5L turbocharged engine that serves as a generator for the 1.8 kWh battery pack. This then powers a pair of electric motors that deliver a combined 213 PS and 525 Nm of torque. There’s also a 2WD version that utilizes a single electric motor, producing 204 PS and 330 Nm of torque.

With PIMS 2026 all set for June, we’ll keep our eyes peeled on what Nissan Philippines has in store in the next several months.
