Second generation Hyundai Palisade makes regional debut in Indonesia

Remember when Hyundai surprised everyone last year just before the holidays with the reveal of the all-new Palisade? Now on its second generation, the all-new full-size three-row crossover SUV gets a boxy makeover and is now available with an electrified powertrain. Moreover, the next-generation Palisade also gets a high-tech upgrade in its cabin, thanks to a more luxurious and feature-packed cabin.

After making its global launch, there is still no word yet if Hyundai plans to bring the all-new Palisade into the country. However, the full-size SUV has already made its regional debut in Southeast Asia by way of Indonesia. That's right, the latest generation Palisade is now in the region and could make its way here in the future.

The Indonesian-spec Palisade is available with just one powertrain, a turbocharged 2.5L Smarstream G four-cylinder engine that's assisted by a hybrid system. The engine alone makes 262 PS at 5800 rpm and 353 Nm of torque between 1800 – 4500 rpm. An electric motor and a 1.65 kWh battery pack provide extra oomph, which gives the Palisade Hybrid a combined system output of 334 PS and 460 Nm of torque. A six-speed automatic gearbox comes as standard on all variants, and the Indonesian version is available with 2WD or AWD.

Style-wise, the Palisade looks the same as the one that was launched in Korea last year. It gets a distinct set of LED headlights & daytime running lights, a massive front grille, huge 21-inch alloy wheels with 265/45 series tires, a boxy roofline, and stylish LED taillights. In terms of size, the Palisade measures 5065mm long, 1980mm wide, 1805mm tall, and has a 2970mm wheelbase.

Hop inside and the all-new Palisade welcomes you into a comfy and high-tech cabin. High-grade models come with Nappa leather upholstery along with power-adjustable front seats and a memory function for the driver. A massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system stands proudly at the center dash and comes with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay as standard. There's also a premium Bose sound system, a wireless charging pad, a smart power tailgate, a heads-up display, dual-zone climate control, 100W USB-C charging ports for all rows of seats, and remote engine start.

Like most Hyundais today, the Palisade also comes with the brand's Smartsense intelligent driver aids. This gives the three-row crossover SUV ADAS features like forward collision warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, smart cruise control with stop & go function (AKA adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist), lane-following assist, and rear-cross traffic collision avoidance assist.

The 2025 Hyundai Palisade is available in three distinct variants in Indonesia: Signature 2WD, Calligraphy 2WD, and Calligraphy AWD. With Indonesia being the first market in Southeast Asia to get the all-new three-row crossover, we're curious if Hyundai plans to bring it here in the future.
