Next-generation Hyundai Palisade trades curves for a boxier design
When Hyundai first unveiled the fifth-generation Santa Fe, many were shocked by its boxier appearance. Looking more like a Defender SUV, the midsize crossover SUV showed that Hyundai was not afraid to introduce radical changes.
Fast forward to just before we say goodbye to 2024. Hyundai has taken the covers off the all-new Palisade flagship crossover SUV, and boy, were we surprised. Just like the latest Santa Fe, the second-generation Palisade gets a boxy redesign along with a bolder-looking front fascia.

Starting with the most obvious first, the body of the flagship crossover SUV features sharper lines and more sculpted shapes. The clean lines, along with the more pronounced curves give the Palisade a more assertive appearance despite some inspiration from the Santa Fe. The front end, meanwhile, gets a wider grille along with prominent LED headlights and daytime running lights.
Combined with a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs, the Palisade gets a more aggressive stance while not sacrificing cabin space. Around the back, the LED taillights get the same look as the LED headlights while the D-pillars get aluminum-style accents which give the vehicle a more upmarket appearance.

Hyundai has yet to reveal its exact dimensions but based on the pictures alone, the Palisade had a bit of a growth spurt compared to the outgoing generation. Other key features present on the all-new Palisade are the massive 21-inch alloy wheels, a tailgate spoiler, aluminum-style accents on the doors and bumpers, and new roof rails.
Hop aboard and the all-new Palisade gets a more luxurious interior. Like most vehicles today, it gets a pair of 12.3-inch high-resolution displays. One serves as the instrument panel while the one on the center dashboard is the touchscreen infotainment system. The gear selector, on the other hand, has been moved to the steering column, resulting in a column-style shifter which frees up space on the center console for the automaker to put several USB ports, a wireless charging pad, and what appear to be cupholders.

Despite having a touchscreen, Hyundai still kept physical buttons for the climate control system and other in-car functions. Other key highlights present inside the all-new Palisade include the thin aircon vents, the tan interior, wood-style trim pieces, LED ambient lighting, and the butterfly-style center glovebox.
Powertrain details remain a mystery for now. However, it's rumored that the all-new Palisade will be offered with a 2.5L hybrid engine and a 3.5L turbocharged V6. Transmission options will likely include an 8-speed automatic gearbox or a 10-speed transmission.
Expect Hyundai to reveal more details about the latest Palisade next year or perhaps in the coming weeks. For now, what do you think of the all-new Palisade?
