JAC Motor PH reveals the JS6 compact turbocharged crossover
Earlier this year at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), Astara Philippines officially announced the relaunch of JAC Motors. Now part of the brand's growing portfolio, the automaker offers a wide array of crossovers, a pickup truck, and an electric vehicle (EV).
From the JS2 Pro, JS4, the T8 Pro, and the Ytterby, JAC Motors has plenty of vehicles to cater to every discerning buyer. In celebration of the company's 60th anniversary, JAC Motors Philippines recently launched the all-new JS6 Pro. First previewed at MIAS 2024, the JS6 serves as the brand's premier compact crossover that comes with a turbocharged engine and plenty of in-car amenities.
Starting with its design, the JS6 features sleek LED daytime running lights along with quad-LED headlights which highlight the brand's unique identity. It is then accompanied by a unique grille along with gloss black accents throughout its front fascia. Other neat touches like the upward-sloping beltline, full-length LED taillights, roof rails, stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof are present on the JS6.
Size-wise, the JS6 measures 4605mm long, 1890mm wide, 1700mm tall, and has a 2720mm wheelbase. It has a minimum ground clearance of 160mm and has an approach/departure angle of 19 degrees and 20 degrees, respectively.
Hop inside and the JS6 gets a pair of 12.3-inch high-resolution displays. One serves as the instrument cluster for the driver while the other is the touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, an 8-speaker sound system, a wireless charging pad, front & rear USB charging ports, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The JS6 has a black interior along with leather seats for all rows of seats. Both the driver and front passenger are power-adjustable and come with a heated function. Other in-car features present inside the vehicle include; LED ambient lighting, front & rear center armrests, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a power tailgate.
Under the hood, the JS6 is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine that makes 182 PS at 5500 rpm along with 300 Nm of torque between 1800 – 3500 rpm. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission.
For extra peace of mind, the JS6 comes with intelligent driver aids like an automatic emergency braking system, lane departure warning, front collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and an intelligent remote light switch. Other features also worth mentioning are the 360-degree camera system, a tire pressure monitoring system, an electronic stability program, a hill-start assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a host of airbags.
The JAC JS6 is now available for PHP 1.380 million. Available colors for the JS6 include; Black, Blue, Gray, Red, and White.
