From 2006 up to now, Foton Motor PH marks 18 years in the business
One of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers and distributors in the country is celebrating a milestone in the country. Foton Motor Philippines Inc. (FMPI), is celebrating its 18th anniversary after having firmly established itself as a maker and seller of world-class trucks and commercial vehicles in the country.
The establishment of Foton Motor Philippines started in 2006 and its evolution over the past 18 years proved to be a significant development for the country's transport and logistics industries. The success and subsequent growth of the brand under its distributor, United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), highlighted its commitment to providing high-quality transport solutions to discerning commercial vehicle buyers.

For over 18 years, Foton has become a prominent player in the Philippine automotive market with its commercial vehicles. The automaker also expanded to passenger vehicles, lifestyle vehicles, and even a wide range of Full EV models.
“Foton is the first Chinese automotive brand to enter the Top 10 in the Philippine automotive market rankings, long before the current influx of the new Chinese brands. This 18th-year anniversary milestone is a reflection of the Filipinos' trust in our brand; while our recent multiple awards from the FOTON head office underscore our pioneering and innovative efforts in sales and service,” said Levy Santos, General Manager of FMPI.

To date, Foton has significantly expanded its dealership network across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, enhancing its accessibility and customer service capabilities currently with 26 dealerships. In the future, the company plans to open more dealerships in 2025. In addition, in-house developed programs like EC Genuine Parts and EC Mobile Service Truck have enhanced customer experience and support for Foton customers.
Foton Motor Philippines is also a significant contributor in terms of employment and investments. The company's assembly plant in the Clark Freeport Zone has a significant investment of PHP 1.2 billion and is capable of producing 12,000 vehicles annually. More importantly, it provides jobs to more than 700 Filipinos employed in the plant, not counting those employed by the plant's primary and secondary suppliers.

Last but not least, FMPI adheres to international standards as it received the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification in 2019. This showcases Foton's commitment to product and manufacturing quality as well as operational excellence. FMPI has also been recertified for its consistent ISO 9001:2015 compliance in 2024.

“Today, as we celebrate 18 years of providing quality products and services, we are raising the bar even further. We are expanding our market reach with our world-class commercial vehicle technology and design as well as with our superb after-sales,” added Santos.
