Toyota GR Philippine Cup Leg 2 races this weekend at Clark

Circuit battles bound to get more intense

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) invites racing enthusiasts to join the excitement at the second race weekend of the TGR Philippine Cup, taking place on September 28 at Clark International Speedway in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

Emphasizing the spirit of "Fun To Drive," TMP continues to enhance the Filipino driving experience through motorsports, having launched this racing series in 2014 as the Vios Cup. This year, fans can look forward to more Toyota models making their racetrack debut.

The TGR Philippine Cup features two race formats: the Sprint Race, consisting of 12 laps or 30 minutes, and the Endurance Race, lasting 1.5 hours. Each format includes four categories—Novice, Promotional, Sporting, and Super Sporting—where racers will compete in the Vios or Vios OMR.

TMP President Masando Hashimoto is participating in the Novice Class alongside graduates of the Autocross Challenge and media racers such as Autoindustriya’s very own Jamil Lacuna. Notable racers like Ryan Agoncillo and Troy Montero will return in the Sporting and Super Sporting Classes, while newcomer Kody Ng joins them after a successful driver tryout.

Car clubs will also showcase their GR performance vehicles, offering fans an exhilarating track experience with models like the GR Supra, GR 86, and GR Yaris. Attendees can look forward to a thrilling driving exhibition featuring professional drifters, as well as the chance to ride along during the event. Lastly, sim racing fans can test their skills at the TGR GT Cup experience booth for a chance to win prizes.

Free merchandise, GR road car displays, and a special live musical guest will round out the weekend, with free admission to the TGR Philippine Cup.
