The idea for Hardcore Manila was born in late 2024, envisioned by a group of passionate car enthusiasts, Henry Chua, Richmond Sunga, Vince Paredes, Charlie Castro, Lester Contreras, and Victor Gonzales, who shared one goal: to elevate the Philippine car scene by showcasing only the best, most thoughtfully built cars. What started as a simple vision quickly grew into a mission to highlight craftsmanship, authenticity, and the builders who pour their heart into every detail. Hardcore Manila was created not just to display great machines, but to set a new benchmark for quality, passion, and pride within the local automotive community.
The community’s origins trace back to a casual two-bottle session between the two founders in December 2024, where the idea of bringing back the classic Greenhills "tambay feels" first took shape. What started as a simple plan to revive that nostalgic vibe quickly grew into something much bigger: a mission to unite the diverse hardcore car cultures under one space. Free from politics, egos, and financial agendas, the community was built on one principle: pure passion and an unfiltered love for the automotive game. From that moment, Hardcore Manila became a place where enthusiasts could come together, share their craft, and celebrate cars the way they were always meant to be.
Hardcore Manila held its first unofficial meet later that same month, a small but meaningful gathering that set the tone for what the community aimed to become. Just weeks later, on February 15, the group hosted its first official event at the Podium Parking of Ayala Malls Manila Bay. The groundbreaking meet drew around 100 cars, each one representing passion, craftsmanship, and the builders behind them. It wasn’t just a display of impressive machines; it was a moment where like-minded enthusiasts came together to celebrate high-quality builds and the culture that connects everyone who lives for the scene.
Membership is selective, ensuring that every addition reflects the standards and spirit of Hardcore Manila. Aspiring members undergo a thoughtful screening process where founders and admins evaluate the car’s platform, build quality, execution, and overall character. It’s not just about having a powerful setup or an impressive spec sheet; it’s about craftsmanship, intention, and the story behind the build. Once a candidate passes this initial review, they proceed to a voting phase wherein the community’s leaders determine whether the car and the owner truly embody the Hardcore MNL culture. When everything aligns, the owner earns not just membership but a place in the family.
Today, Hardcore Manila has grown to over 300 official members and counting. What began as a small circle of enthusiasts has evolved into a thriving, tightly knit community that continues to expand both in numbers and in influence. The group regularly hosts breakfast runs, midnight drives, curated car meets, and charity initiatives, each one strengthening the bonds among members while fostering a culture of camaraderie, discipline, and passion. Beyond building cars, Hardcore Manila is committed to giving back, uplifting the community, and leaving a positive impact that reaches far beyond the scene.
