Toyota PH officially confirms GR Corolla

Toyota Motor PH is now accepting GR Corolla reservations

Remember when Toyota Motor Philippines teased what could be their newest hot hatch? Well, the leading automaker in the country has just officially confirmed that the latest performance vehicle from Gazoo Racing is about to make its presence known to the public.

After last week's teaser, TMP has officially confirmed that the GR Corolla is coming soon to your nearest GR Performance dealership. In fact, Toyota has launched a dedicated website where interested enthusiasts can register to know more about the upcoming GR Corolla hot hatch.

The exact specifications are not yet available, but based on what other markets receive (and from regulatory approval), it will most likely feature the upgraded 1.6L turbocharged three-cylinder, dubbed the G16E-GTS. It makes 300 PS with 400 Nm of torque and is available with either a six-speed manual or the new 8-speed Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT). It also gets an AWD system that's shared with the GR Yaris hot hatchback.

Looking to get one for yourself? Aside from registering at the new website, TMP also said that interested customers can visit their preferred GR Performance dealership to put a reservation for the GR Corolla.
