Power distribution box issue affects a total of 103 units
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced a recall that affects two of its luxury MPVs – the Alphard and the Lexus LM.
According to the manufacturer, the issue lies with the rear window defogger connection that may have been installed in the wrong position within the power distribution box. As a result, the connection could be weak or incomplete, which may cause the defogger to stop working.
A non-working rear defogger could cause visibility issues in the rear window, especially when there is fog or moisture in colder conditions. TMP says a total of 103 units are affected – 89 of those are Alphards made between December 17 and December 24, 2024, and 14 Lexus LM units made between December 19, 2024 and December 25, 2024.
Affected customers will be notified by TMP and will be invited to Lexus and Toyota dealers to replace the PDB at no charge. But in case customers have yet to receive notice, they may check if their vehicles are affected through the dedicated webpages of Toyota and Lexus regarding the issue.
