Bentley's electric Urban SUV spotted at the Nurburgring

Remember when our spy photographers were able to photograph Bentley's first-ever EV being tested at the Nurburgring? Despite wearing the body of a Porsche, Bentley's upcoming EV will be based on Volkswagen's Premium Performance Electric (PPE) platform, which is already seeing use in the Porsche Macan EV and Audi Q6 e-tron.

Since the Porsche Cayenne EV and the yet-to-be-revealed Bentley EV will use the PPE platform, it's not surprising the Crewe-based luxury brand has been busy testing its first-ever electric vehicle.

Fast forward several months, and Bentley has been spotted once again at the Green Hell, and they're testing the upcoming EV. This time around, the prototype EV is now using its own body, albeit covered in a camouflage livery.

Unlike the Porsche test mule they used before, the prototype Bentley EV features the brand's more rounded design. From the signature headlight design to the muscular fenders & wheel arches, as well as the large rear quarter panels, Bentley's upcoming EV is huge.

We also noticed that the EV appears to have some design elements that were inspired by the Bentley Bentayga. These include the large wheel wells, the sculpted doors, the long wheelbase, and the massive tailgate, complete with the wraparound LED taillights.

Since the Bentley EV will use the same architecture as the Porsche Cayenne EV, we won't be surprised if it has the same 108 kWh battery capacity, which translates to an estimated range of up to 560 km. In addition, the Bentley EV might also support a 400V architecture to allow for faster recharging.

Bentley's upcoming EV will reportedly make its official debut in 2026, while series production will supposedly begin in 2027. With that, we're still quite a long way from the big reveal, but it's nice to see that Bentley is already busy with on-road tests.
