Driver who went against traffic flow on Skyway was intoxicated
The Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the directive of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, has perpetually revoked the driver’s license of a driver following a viral video of a car counterflowing on the Skyway during the wee hours of August 9, 2025.
During a formal hearing, the driver admitted to being under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
Sec. Dizon explained that this act of reckless driving posed a severe threat to other motorists. In addition to the permanent license revocation, the driver will also face charges for violating the Anti-Drunk Driving Act and reckless driving.

“Hindi pwede ‘to. Lasing ka na nga, tapos nag-counterflow ka pa sa Skyway, at muntik ka pang makapatay dahil sa ginawa mo,” said Sec. Dizon.
(This is unacceptable. You were already drunk, then you counterflowed on Skyway, and you almost killed someone because of what you did.)
He added, “Let this serve as an example to our motorists. The government is serious about keeping people safe on the roads.”
Sec. Dizon also said that the government is serious about keeping roads safe, and this action is meant to serve as a clear example to motorists. The official stressed that this firm stance is fully supported by the President himself, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
