Lynk & Co new flagship 3-row SUV boasts of 40,000 pre-orders at Auto Shanghai

Amidst the buzz of Auto Shanghai 2025, Zeekr Group's youthful premium brand, Lynk & Co, is making a significant statement with its new flagship SUV, the Lynk & Co 900. Following its unveiling earlier this year and the start of pre-sales in March, the imposing six-seater hybrid draws considerable crowds, showcasing the brand's technological ambitions and pushing into the competitive large SUV segment.

The 900 is Lynk & Co's largest vehicle to date, measuring a substantial 5,240 mm long with a 3,160 mm wheelbase. It leverages a modified version of the Scalable Product Architecture platform, dubbed SPA Evo, shared within the wider Geely group. Inside, the 900 offers a luxurious and flexible six-seat layout, featuring second-row captain's chairs capable of rotating 180 degrees to create a 'living room' atmosphere, enhancing passenger interaction.

Under the hood, the Lynk & Co 900 features advanced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. Options combine either a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with dual or even triple electric motor setups, delivering potent combined outputs ranging from 721 PS to a staggering 857 PS. This translates to brisk acceleration, with 0-100 km/h times claimed between 4.3 and 4.8 seconds.

Perhaps most impressively, the 900 boasts significant electric capability for a PHEV. Equipped with large battery packs (up to 52.38 kWh, featuring innovative CATL lithium-sodium technology for enhanced performance), it offers a remarkable pure electric driving range – sources cite figures up to 280 km on the CLTC cycle. The total hybrid range is claimed to exceed 1,400 km, offering extensive flexibility. DC fast charging is also supported, allowing for rapid battery top-ups.

The cabin is a tech showcase, dominated by enormous dual screens – a 30-inch 6K display across the dashboard and another folding down for rear passengers, complemented by a digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system runs on dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chips, while the advanced driver assistance system utilizes Nvidia's powerful Thor chip, LiDAR, and 4D radar to enable sophisticated features, including map-independent Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) for urban environments. Premium touches like a 31-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, available fridge, and dual-chamber air suspension underscore its flagship status.

The market has responded enthusiastically even before the official launch, slated for later this month. Lynk & Co proudly revealed over 40,000 pre-orders for the 900, signalling strong interest despite facing rivals like the Aito M9 and Li Auto L9.

The Lynk & Co 900's prominent display at Auto Shanghai 2025 highlights the brand's strategy under the recently integrated Zeekr umbrella, focusing on technologically advanced hybrid vehicles for the premium market segment above RMB 200,000 (approx. $27,500 USD). While continuing its global expansion, the 900 stands as Lynk & Co's boldest product yet, aiming to capture a significant share of China's lucrative large family SUV market.
