Jetour reveals stretched T2 7-seater at 2025 Shanghai Auto Show
The T2 will get 2 more seats
Jetour seems to be on a roll in the Philippines. The brand, through their partner JAPI, has been doing well with their model launches such as the Dashing, Ice Cream, and X70. But really it is the T2 that seems to have captured the attention of the market for its resemblance to the Land Rover Defender.
No, the T2 is not trying to be the best 4x4 by far, but 4x4 capability doesn’t seem to be a priority of their customers. What is needed, however, is an extra pair of seats for larger-than-usual Filipino families. And now, Jetour has answered that need.
At the Shanghai Auto Show (or Auto China), Jetour has revealed the T2 Extended Edition. As the name and pictures make clear, it’s a stretched version of the T2. The boxy aesthetic is very much preserved, and from the front to the rear side doors it’s pretty much the same. From to the back, however, it’s clearly longer.
The new vehicle is 5034mm long; that’s a significant stretch from the 5-seater at 4785mm. And this vehicle now has a 2-3-2 seating layout. And the vehicle displayed at Shanghai has a neat purple interior. The third row can fold down flat, and with all seats folded down the cargo volume extends to 1653 liters overall.
The T2 Extended Edition isn’t just about the seven seats though: this is the plug-in hybrid variant with a tri-motor XWD system. Power from the electric drive system is about 340 kW (462 PS), while combined power (with the engine) is a whopping 618 PS. The combined torque is 700 Nm according to Jetour.
The battery size is 43.24 kWh, and the pure electric range is 206. Combined range with a full tank is quoted at 1300 kilometers.
The great thing about Jetour Auto Philippines is that whenever a model is previewed in China, they aren’t shy about sharing details such as potential launch dates and possible pricing. The T2 Extended will be offered in the Philippines, but it will take a bit more time. Most likely the launch will be late 2026.
The expected price increase will be about PHP 150,000 compared to the T2 5-seater, so that means around PHP 2.7 million. That is just indicative for now. Pricing is affected by many things such as exchange rates, inflation, and much more. Hopefully pricing stays stable or even improves (lowers) by the time they launch the T2 Extended Edition.
