UAAGI launches plug-in hybrid and EV RD6 pickup

Back in April 2025, United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) was officially appointed as the Philippine distributor of Radar, Geely’s sub-brand dedicated to electrified pickup trucks.

Now, it's official: the Radar brand has made its debut in the Philippine market with the RD6 pickup truck. The brand brought both the RD6 EM-P hybrid and the RD6 BEV variants as its inital offering.

Size-wise, the dimensions of the RD6 EM-P comes in at 5277mm long, 1900mm wide and 1880mm tall with a wheelbase of 3120mm. The RD6 Econ variant is 5260mm tall, 1900mm wide and 1865mm long, but with the same wheelbase of 3120mm. Adding to its rugged nature, the rear bed comes with an STC material bedliner and assisted tailgate.

Both variants of the RD6 come suspended with MacPherson independent struts with a robust multi-link rear layout. Greatly complimenting the look of the modern pickup are two-tone alloy wheels and ventilated disc brakes on all corners that ensure sufficient stopping power.

Step inside and the Radar RD6 greets occupants with a functional interior, one with well-contoured seats covered with durable PVC leather making it easy to clean and maintain. To keep the occupants entertained, the RD6 also comes with a 14.6-inch touchscreen display that has Apple Carplay and Carbit Link for smartphone connectivity. Other features include a 10.2-inch TFT instrument cluster, a 540 degree camera, 8 speakers, and dual-zone climate control for good measure.

Under the hood, the hybrid RD6 EM-P variant comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine dubbed the “Thor” Hybrid Special Engine, producing 156 PS and 252 Nm of torque. This internal combustion unit is paired with dual electric motors: 218 PS at the front and 245 PS at the rear, making the RD6 EM-P an all-wheel-drive electrified pickup with a combined 463 PS and torque of 659 Nm.

The plug-in hybrid system has a 19.09 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which offers an EV-only range of up to 82 km. With the combined powertrain, Radar claims the RD6 Horizon can achieve a total range of over 1,000 km, making it a highly versatile option for both urban and long-distance driving.

Meanwhile the fully electric version comes in three variants with varying power outputs. That starts from 245 PS and 309 Nm for the RWD and 281 PS, 485 Nm for the 4WD model.

Both the plug-in hybrid and full-electric variants of the RD6 pickup have Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, enabling it to power external devices that's perfect for work sites or outdoor adventures. Charging is equally convenient, with 6.6 kW for AC and DC fast charging for up to 100 kW in the BEV version.

The launch of Radar marks UAAGI’s continued push into the electrification space, adding another name to the growing list of alternative energy vehicles in the Philippines. As the market shifts away from conventional diesel-powered pickups, the Radar RD6 pickup is shaping up to be a bold new contender in the segment.
