All-new Nissan Patrol makes Philippine debut after the Middle East

Let’s face it: Filipinos love big SUVs, and it’s quite apparent when you see them populating the roads. Perhaps one of the most popular SUVs in the country is the Toyota Land Cruiser. From every generation and variant, it’s hard not to spot a Land Cruiser cruising around the Philippines.

Equally famous is the Nissan Patrol, which is the main rival of the Land Cruiser. While most will say the Land Cruiser is king, the Nissan Patrol is not far behind the Toyota. During the launch of the all-new Y63 Patrol, we were able to speak with a high-ranking executive about the all-new flagship SUV.

The executive mentioned that the launch of the all-new Patrol is significant not only for Nissan but also for the Philippine market. That’s because after the Patrol Y63 made its global debut in the Middle East last November 2024, the Philippines became the second global market to get the next-generation flagship 4x4.

Yes, there’s the Nissan Armada, which is essentially the twin of the Y63 Patrol but that’s only for the US market. With the Philippines the latest market to receive the Patrol, it highlights the significance (and demand) of the Philippine market for Nissan.

According to our anonymous source, the Middle East (AKA the Gulf Cooperation Council [GCC]) has the lion’s share which gets around 3,000 units per month. Meanwhile, the first 40 units for the Philippines have all been spoken for. As of last week, there are already 200+ reservations although we’re betting the reservation list has ballooned by then after the big reveal.

As to how many units of the Patrol Y63 are on their way here, the country is estimated to get around 200 units per month although that’s only a rough estimation.

With the Patrol Y63 set to become a staple on Philippine roads, don’t be surprised to see more of them in the coming months.
