PH recognized as fastest growing market for GAC Motor
GAC Motor PH records massive 274% growth in sales year-on-year
Astara-led GAC Motor concluded Q1 2024 with exceptional growth in retail sales from January to March, earning its position as the fastest-growing automotive brand in the Philippine market.
According to GAC Motor Philippines, they recorded a remarkable 274% growth in retail sales compared to the same period last year, totaling an impressive 774 units sold year to date. This growth not only demonstrates the brand’s strong momentum in retail sales but also surpasses the industry's total growth rate, which stands at 13% as reported by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI).
The surge in sales can be attributed to the increasing demand for GAC Motor's diverse lineup. These include popular models like the Emzoom, Empow, Emkoo, the GS8, and the latest additions to the local lineup, the M8 luxury MPV and the M6 Pro family MPV.
The increase in sales can also be attributed to the brand’s expanding reach through its widening dealer network, which currently stands at 26 outlets nationwide. By the end of the year, the automaker is looking to have 35 locations - further bolstering its presence in the Philippines.
In recognition of the outstanding performance of GAC operations in the Philippines for 2023 under Astara, GAC Motor International recently honored the Philippines as the Fastest Growing GAC Market in the world. This accolade marks a significant milestone in Astara Philippines's journey as a mobility company only a year since becoming the distributor of GAC in the country.

This coming June, GAC Motor PH is making the necessary preparations to launch its latest vehicle, the Emkoo Hybrid. First previewed during this year’s Manila International Auto Show, the electrified crossover features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s assisted by an electric motor. The engine alone makes 140 PS with 180 Nm of torque while the motor produces an additional 182 PS with 300 Nm of pull. Power is then transferred to a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). It has a claimed average fuel efficiency of 22.1 km/L.
