NLEX to adjust its toll rate by PHP 0.50 in the open system, PHP 0.72 in the closed system
Motorists who frequently take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will have to shell out more when they use the toll road. This comes after the NLEX Corporation announced that the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) recently approved new toll adjustment rates.
Effective March 2, 2025, NLEX will adjust its toll by PHP 0.50 in the open system and PHP 0.72 in the closed system. The adjustments, which followed regulatory procedures and underwent thorough review, are the consolidated amount of the first tranche of the approved periodic adjustments of NLEX due in 2023. It also includes the add-on toll completion of the PHP 7.7B new Candaba 3rd Viaduct in 2024. The increase due in 2023 was deferred and divided into two tranches to ease the impact on expressway users.

Under the new toll fee matrix, motorists traveling anywhere within the open system will pay an additional PHP 5 for Class 1 vehicles, PHP 13 for Class 2 vehicles, and PHP 15 for Class 3 vehicles. On the other hand, those traveling the full length of NLEX between Metro Manila and Mabalacat City will pay an additional PHP 57 for Class 1 vehicles, PHP 142 for Class 2 vehicles, and PHP 171 for Class 3 vehicles.
As before, the open system runs from Metro Manila in the cities of Navotas, Valenzuela, and Caloocan to Marilao, Bulacan. Meanwhile, the closed system covers the portion between Bocaue, Bulacan, and Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, as well as Subic-Tipo.
With NLEX increasing its toll rates, motorists and truckers better take note of the higher fees.
