Next-gen X-Trail e-Power will be one of Nissan’s global core models

Nissan’s recovery strategy is in its final year of execution. With the brand saying the plan remains on track, the Japanese manufacturer is now laying the groundwork for future growth in the global market.

As the manufacturer announced its long-term vision along with its model strategy, Nissan also showcased its upcoming models as it makes its next step – one of those is the next-generation X-Trail e-Power.

Compared to the upcoming X-Trail e-Power that the Philippine market is getting sometime this year, the next-generation model features a bolder styling, with creases and geometric shapes to show for it.

The next-generation X-Trail e-Power will be one of Nissan’s global core models, and will be known as the Rogue Hybrid e-Power in the US market – not to be confused with the Rogue PHEV, which is essentially a badge-engineered Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

According to Nissan, the next-gen X-Trail e-Power will still come with dual motor electric all-wheel-drive, which, in Nissan speak, is the e-4ORCE powertrain. That leads us to believe that Nissan could do the same strategy it did with the Kicks e-Power, where they heavily revised the look and its interior, but retained the same platform.

As for product rollout, Nissan is likely to introduce the next-gen X-Trail e-Power first in its identified three lead markets - Japan, US, and China, before the model makes its way to LATAM and the ASEAN region. That said, we’ll find out more once Nissan reveals more details when they launch the next-generation X-Trail e-Power sometime in 2027.
