Nissan GT-R says sayonara in Japan, what does this mean for PH?

Nissan has stopped accepting new orders of the GT-R in its home market

It was back in 2023 when Nissan gave its flagship supercar slayer a new lease on life. That's right, the automaker revealed the 2024 GT-R at the Tokyo Auto Salon and it came with special paint finishes and unique variants to keep the aging GT-R fresh and up-to-date.

But alas, not everything lasts forever. After saying farewell to the North American market in late 2024, the Nissan GT-R has bid “sayonara” in its home market which is Japan. In a statement that was released on its website last February 28, 2025, Nissan confirmed that they have stopped accepting orders for the GT-R.

“We have received many orders for the Nissan GT-R and have now finished accepting orders for the planned production quantity. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our customers for their support since its release in 2007.”

With the Nissan GT-R living on borrowed time, we're curious as to what this will mean for the Philippine market. Upon checking Nissan Philippines' website, the GT-R is still available although its price is available only upon request. Back when the facelifted GT-R was first revealed two years ago, it had a sticker price of PHP 12.445 million.

So it looks like the GT-R is still on sale in the Philippine market. But since the automaker has already stopped selling it in North America and Japan, perhaps it might not be long before the GT-R is quietly axed from the local lineup. We asked an insider regarding the matter and they said that they still have units available for the GT-R.
