2024 Nissan Urvan now comes in Deep Forest & Deep Ocean Blue…in Japan

If there’s one thing we wish Nissan Philippines could offer more for its popular people carrier, it would be to give it more color choices. While some might be okay to have it in plain white, shiny silver, or sleek gray, we wouldn’t mind having the Nissan Urvan painted in brighter shades of color.

Over in Japan, Nissan has just given the Urvan a subtle refresh as well as new color choices we can only wish to have here. Also called the Caravan in its home market, the people carrier is now available with two new exterior colors; Deep Forest and Deep Ocean Blue. The former gives the van a nice light shade of green which is pleasing to the eyes while the latter gives the people carrier a more striking look that can be seen even from afar.

Apart from that, Nissan also gave the 2024 Urvan a tech upgrade - particularly its Intelligent Rearview Mirror. While it still comes with a digital view of the rear when activated, Nissan says the feature now continuously projects an image of the rear of the van on the left side of the mirror even in normal mode. This makes it easier for the driver to see what is exactly behind the van for added safety.

As before, there’s an Autech version of the Nissan Urvan which has been on sale in Japan since 2022. Unlike your typical Urvan, the dressed-up version features a unique grille, an aero package, new alloy wheels, and a more upscale interior featuring blue contrast stitching & the Autech branding embroidered on the front seat backrests.

Under the hood, the 2024 Urvan is available with various engine choices. First up are the gasoline-powered 2.0L QR20DE and the 2.5L QR25DE. The former makes 140 PS with 200 Nm of torque while the latter produces 147 PS with 213 Nm of pull.

As for its diesel powertrain, gone is the YD25DDTi as the JDM-spec Urvan is now powered by the Mitsubishi-derived 2.4L 4N16 turbo-diesel. This one makes 132 PS with 370 Nm of torque and is coupled to a new 7-speed automatic gearbox which is also available in the gasoline-powered engines mentioned earlier. The automaker has yet to offer the new 4N16 turbo-diesel to the Philippine-spec Urvan.

While it’s highly unlikely for Nissan Philippines to bring the new shades of the Urvan to the country, perhaps owners can borrow inspiration from the new update in order to make their vans more stylish.
