Over 20 abandoned vehicles found at NAIA parking

While the parking fee increase at NAIA is still a subject that needs much discussion, it’s a fact that the hike really cleared facilities of motorists that found the cost too high

As the parking slots freed up after the major parking fee increase was implemented, NAIA operator New NAIA Infra Corp (NNIC) has discovered there are over 20 abandoned vehicles in various parking facilities of the airport.

“These abandoned vehicles are taking up space that should be available for passengers. They are also a security and safety concern, especially in their deteriorating states,” said NNIC.

NNIC says some vehicles were abandoned as far back as 2014, and are now taking action to remove these cars to free up more space for NAIA passengers. Giving a final chance for owners to reclaim their cars before getting towed and impounded, NNIC says they are waiving any applicable fees for reclaiming the abandoned vehicles. They just need to present proof of ownership and valid identification to get back the vehicles.

NNIC is giving an unspecified grace period for these abandoned vehicles. If still unclaimed, NNIC says unclaimed vehicles shall be impounded at government facilities.
