MMDA to implement round-the-clock EDSA rehab works during Holy Week
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has confirmed that round-the-clock rehabilitation works will be carried out along EDSA during this year’s Holy Week.
The move follows an earlier announcement by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), which said it intends to take advantage of the significantly lighter traffic volume during the holiday period to expedite repairs and minimize disruption to motorists.

“Yes, we will allow 24/7 work starting Wednesday at 10:00 AM up to Monday, 5:00 AM,” said MMDA Chairman, Atty. Don Artes, adding that traffic is typically very light during those days, and that it will issue the necessary advisories and deploy personnel to manage traffic flow in the affected construction areas.
This means that beginning at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, partial lane closures will be implemented along EDSA, with round-the-clock rehabilitation works set to continue until 5:00 AM on Monday, April 6.
Rehabilitation works on EDSA began in late December last year, initially covering the busway lane. According to DPWH, the first phase of the project, which stretches from Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City to Orense Street in Makati City, is now nearly 50% complete and is targeted for completion by July this year.
