MMPC has built the 900,000th L300
If there’s one vehicle in the Philippines that has withstood the test of time, it’s the evergreen Mitsubishi L300. Despite economic hardships and numerous policy changes, the L300 continues to be manufactured and sold to Filipino customers.
And now, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has achieved a major manufacturing milestone, marking the local production of the L300 at 900,000 units. That’s right, MMPC has built the 900,000th L300 in the country, which reinforces the company’s long-standing commitment to operational excellence and quality manufacturing in the Philippines.

MMPC achieved this milestone through consistent demand for its locally assembled Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) models, alongside ongoing kaizen activities implemented by its Manufacturing Division. These initiatives have focused on optimizing the production line, improving efficiency, and strengthening quality across all CKD units.
“The 900,000-unit production milestone of the Mitsubishi L300 reflects the dedication of our people and our commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing. “Through disciplined operations and teamwork across our organization, we have been able to sustain production excellence while delivering vehicles that our customers have relied on for many years,” said Ritsu Imaeda, president & CEO of MMPC.

The Mitsubishi L300 has long been revered for its durability and reliability. It has been a dependable partner for small and medium enterprises, logistics providers, and fleet operators. Its robust build and practical cargo capacity have made it well-suited for delivery operations and various business applications, helping support daily operations and long-term growth.
When the country transitioned from Euro2 to Euro4 emission regulations, MMPC stepped up and launched a Euro4-compliant turbo-diesel engine for the L300. The new 2.2L 4N14 turbo-diesel engine succeeds the long-running 4D56 turbo-diesel and makes 99 PS with 200 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed column shift manual transmission.

The L300’s cost-efficient ownership has further strengthened its position as a practical commercial vehicle choice. Designed to balance performance, durability, and operating efficiency, it continues to serve as a valuable asset for businesses seeking dependable transportation solutions.
As MMPC continues its production journey, the company remains focused on strengthening its manufacturing capabilities, upholding quality standards, and supporting the evolving mobility needs of customers.
