BAW's 212 brand enters PH under distributorship of Transcorp Incorporated
A new vehicle brand has emerged in the Philippine market for those looking for a rugged 4x4 SUV that can go anywhere.
Officially making its brand launch at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show is 212 Motor Philippines – an independent brand of Beijing Auto Works (BAW) that focuses on combining classic, retro aesthetic elements from the original 1960s Chinese military vehicles with modern, hardcore off-roading capabilities.

212 Motor Philippines is under the distributorship of Transcorp Incorporated, the same people behind the Rox brand in the country.
On their first appearance in a major motor show in the Philippines, 212 brought out the T01 SUV, which is basically the brand’s own interpretation of a Jeep Wrangler.

The retro styling is taken from the BAW BJ212 Chinese military jeep, and features rugged underpinnings designed to handle rough terrain. Those include a ladder-frame chassis construction, a five-link, live axle coil spring setup for both the front and rear differentials, as well as a ground clearance that’s rated at 235 mm.

Inside, however, the 212 T01 trades off its utilitarian exterior for a modern cabin designed to give occupants both comfort and convenience. It features digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a sunroof, and power adjustment on the seats that are wrapped in leather.
Powering the 212 T01 is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel that puts out 170 PS and 415 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and its mechanical part-time four-wheel-drive system comes with front and rear differential locks for maximum traction in difficult terrain.

The 212 T01 4x4 is priced at PHP 2,688,000, putting it right in the price range of established 4x4 PPVs in the country. The new model will be on display at 212’s MIAS booth from April 9 to 12, 2026.
