GAC Philippines confirms GS8 and E8 HEVs
Last week, GAC Philippines released a teaser image of its upcoming launch for the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). While the brand wasn't ready to fully reveal both vehicles, we were able to take a closer look beneath the covers.
Based on the looks and design of the vehicles, despite the covers, it looks like GAC Philippines will be revealing the GS8 HEV and the E8 HEV. Both cars will be hybrid electric vehicles and will likely serve as the brand's latest offerings.
Fast forward just before the opening day of this year's MIAS, GAC Philippines has confirmed that the GS8 HEV and the E8 HEV will be unveiled at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, tomorrow, April 9.

The exact specifications have yet to be revealed by GAC. However, based on what the DOE has listed, both vehicles are recognized as HEVs (from their namesakes) and will likely come with a 2.0L engine. The GS8 HEV will likely come with dual electric motors, while the E8 HEV may only come with a single electric motor. In addition, the GS8 HEV has been listed to have a 1.73 kWh battery pack, while the E8 HEV will be equipped with a 1.8 kWh battery.
With the GS8 and E8 HEVs both being hybrids, we won't be surprised if both vehicles are capable of traveling up to 1,000 km.
We'll learn more once GAC Philippines takes the covers off the GS8 and E8 HEVs tomorrow at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
