PHP will get you the 2025 BAIC B40 Trail Master 4x4
BAIC Philippines distributor United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) just went all out at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Making its Philippine debut at the annual auto show is the all-new BAIC B40 Trail Master, and boy, is it ready to impress.

Whereas the B40 Ragnar appeared to have borrowed some inspiration from a certain Jeep, the all-new B40 Trail Master is seemingly channeling its inner Bronco. With a boxy and retro-inspired exterior, the B40 Trail Master combines purposeful looks and go-anywhere capability. Its eye-catching LED headlights and LED daytime running lights give the 4x4 a sleek look, along with the blacked-out front grille and bumper. Meanwhile, the stylish LED taillights, swing-out tailgate, and rear spare tire carrier serve as a callback to classic 4x4s of yesteryear.
Other notable exterior features include the unpainted wheel arch fenders, functional roof rails, front & rear foglights, skid plates for the front and back, and power-retractable step boards for easier ingress and egress from the B40.

Size-wise, the 2025 B40 Trail Master measures 4790mm long, 1940mm wide, and 1915mm tall. It also has a 2760mm wheelbase, 220mm of generous ground clearance, and the ability to ford through water as high as 800mm. It even has an 85-liter fuel tank, which means it can go the distance both on-road and off-road.
Speaking of off-road, the B40 Trail Master is equipped with a part-time 4WD system from Borg Warner that comes with four modes: 2H (2WD High), 4A (4WD Automatic), 4H (4WD High), and 4L (4WD Low). It’s also equipped with front & rear locking differentials and an 11 All-Terrain System Drive Modes that consists of Comfort, I-Off-road, Ice & Snow, Deep Snow, Off-Road, Sand, Mud, Rock, Wading, Sport, and Economy.

Other key off-road features the B40 Trail Master has include crawl control, which is also called off-road cruise control, off-road turn assist, 265/65 all-terrain tires shod in 17-inch alloy wheels, an approach angle of 37 degrees, a departure angle of 31 degrees, and a ramp angle of 23 degrees.
The B40 Trail Master may be geared for off-road use but BAIC made sure its interior is welcoming and relaxing. In front of the driver is a high-definition 10.8-inch digital instrument cluster with a Dynamic Off-Road Info Display. Meanwhile, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel with power-adjustment ensures that drivers can easily adjust the steering column to their desired position. Speaking of power, both front seats are 10-way power-adjustable and are ventilated. Heck, even the rear seats are ventilated to keep the heat at bay during the summer.

Sitting proudly on the center dashboard is a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Not only does it have crisp graphics, but it also comes with countless features, including a 180-degree transparent chassis camera system to help drivers spot themselves when going off-road. It also comes with smartphone mirroring, Bluetooth & USB connectivity, and a 10-speaker sound system.
Other cabin amenities available inside the B40 Trail Master include; dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, microfiber leather seats, memory function for the driver’s seat, LED ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 12V power outlet for the front & rear passengers, a wireless charging pad, and a 360-degree camera system.

Under the hood, the B40 Trail Master is powered by a 2.0L Aucan turbo-diesel engine that’s mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The engine generates 163 PS with 390 Nm of torque, while the automatic transmission benefits from a manual tiptronic function. Suspension-wise, the B40 Trail Master gets double wishbones up front and a five-link solid bar in the back.
A wide range of safety features come as standard in the B40 Trail Master. These include electronic stability control, traction control, roll movement intervention, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, a tire pressure monitoring system, front & rear parking sensors, and a host of airbags.

More importantly, the 4x4 is fitted with advanced driver assist systems, which give it intelligent driver aids like adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, intelligent high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and rear-cross traffic alert.
