2025 Mazda BT-50 revealed with cutting-edge looks
Remember when Mazda teased the update BT-50 last week? Well, the automaker has officially taken the covers off the refreshed pickup truck, and boy we like what we’re seeing.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the 2025 Mazda BT-50. Featuring a fresh new face inspired by the CX-5 crossover, the pickup truck looks bolder with its new Kodo - Soul Of Motion design philosophy for all to see. Moreover, Mazda was also busy giving the BT-50 more high-tech features.

Starting with the most obvious first, the D-Max-based pickup truck now gets sleek LED headlights and a new front grille accompanied by a bigger Mazda badge. The result is a pickup truck that looks ready to take on anything and looks good while doing it. Mazda even put an air curtain at the front to make it more aerodynamically efficient and use less fuel while on the road.
Aside from giving it a new face, Mazda also gave the 2025 BT-50 restyled LED taillights that have a distinct ridged design along the bottom edge of the panel. Last, but not least, a new set of alloy wheels (for high-grade models only) and a new hero color called “Red Earth Metallic” round up the exterior changes for Mazda’s pickup truck.

Inside, the cabin largely remains the same. However, the automaker put a new touchscreen infotainment system for its updated Human Machine Interface (HMI). The screen measures 9 inches and has a more ergonomic look and layout. Just like the refreshed D-Max, the 2025 BT-50 sports a bigger instrument cluster that grew from 4.2 inches to 7 inches. Also worth mentioning is the fact that wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now standard features.
Other key changes present include new USB-C charging ports/data ports, new black leather trim accents (changed from the original brown leather), synthetic suede inserts on top-of-the-line variants, and a stitched “BT-50” moniker on the front seat headrests.
For extra peace of mind, Mazda installed additional driver aids in the 2025 BT-50. It now comes with Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) which works in tandem with adaptive cruise control - allowing the pickup to slow down, come to a stop, and accelerate all on its own. There’s also the rear-cross traffic brake which makes it safer when reversing out of a parking slot.

The automatic emergency braking (AEB) was also updated and can now detect motorcycles and pedestrians with ease at intersections. In addition, Emergency Lane Keeping is also present to help detect road edges even without road markings.
No powertrain details were specified at the time of the 2025 BT-50’s reveal. However, we won’t be surprised if it still has the 3.0L turbo-diesel engine that pushes out 190 PS with 450 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed automatic. Another possible engine is the 1.9L RZ4E mild-hybrid that was recently launched for the D-Max MHEV in Thailand.
With Australia set to become the first market to get the 2025 Mazda BT-50, other countries like the Philippines may follow suit, possibly around next year.
