Mazda gives us a glimpse of 2025 BT-50 refresh ahead of its debut
We all know the latest Mazda BT-50 is now based on the all-new Isuzu D-Max. In fact, just last year, Isuzu gave the D-Max a facelift in Thailand before eventually making its way to the Philippines last June 2024.
With Isuzu already giving its midsize pickup truck a once over for the 2024 model year, the BT-50 is now due for a refresh of its own, and Mazda will be unveiling it soon. Recently, Mazda Australia dropped a teaser for the BT-50 facelift for the 2025 model year and boy were we surprised with what the automaker initially revealed.
Despite Mazda not yet ready to fully unveil the 2025 BT-50, the refreshed pickup truck will have one heck of a facelift. Based on the design of the LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, the BT-50 will have a fresh new face reminiscent of the CX-5.
Other details remain scarce although Mazda did mention that both the inside and outside of the 2025 BT-50 will benefit from a comprehensive redesign. In addition, the Human Machine Interface (HMI) will also get significant upgrades for the 2025 model year.
Powertrain-wise, we won't be surprised if Mazda will carry over the 3.0L turbo-diesel engine derived from Isuzu. That means we can expect the engine to crank out 190 PS with 450 Nm of torque and will be available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations. Last but not least, transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
Mazda will officially reveal the 2025 BT-50 in Australia on October 18, 2024. With that, we're only one week away before the automaker takes the covers off.
