DOE has added the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P on its recognized list of PHEVs
We're only one week away from the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), and some brands have already revealed what they have in store for the annual auto show.
Lynk & Co Philippines distributor United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) will also be present next week for the 2026 MIAS. However, they have yet to announce what they will be launching next week. But thanks to the Department of Energy (DOE), we now have a good idea of what Lynk & Co may reveal next week.

The DOE recently updated its list of recognized plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and we noticed a new addition to Lynk & Co's lineup that wasn't there before. That vehicle is the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P, which is the electrified version of the ICE-powered 06 the brand currently sells.
Based on what the DOE recently approved, the Lynk & 06 EM-P has been listed as a 2026 model year vehicle and measures 4350mm long, 1820mm wide, and 1625mm tall. It also has a gross vehicle weight of over 2,115kg, which signifies its PHEV status. Last but not least, there will be two variants of the 06 EM-P: Max and Halo.
Official specifications have yet to be revealed, but a quick look at what other markets get has given us a good idea of its powertrain. Instead of a 1.5L turbocharged engine, the 06 EM-P comes with a naturally aspirated 1.5L engine that puts out a humble 118 PS and 148 Nm of torque. The engine is then assisted by an electric motor that generates 160 kW (or 218 PS) with 350 Nm of torque and is powered by a 19.1 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack.

On just battery power alone, the 06 EM-P is rated to travel up to 102 km based on the WLTP cycle. When combined with the 1.5L engine, however, Lynk & Co claims the vehicle has a combined range of over 1,200 km, under ideal conditions. Aside from regenerative braking, the 06 EM-P can also be recharged via a 3.5 kW portable charger or a standard 7 kW wall charger. It also supports a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power up appliances or devices during a blackout.
With fuel prices at an all-time high and demand for electrified vehicles continuing to grow, launching a plug-in hybrid version of the Lynk & Co 06 could just be what the brand needs. The only question now is, can we expect it to debut at MIAS 2026 next week?
